About Me

My Story

My name is Wendy Foulds and I’m a self taught artist and creator of Creative Cats by Wendy.  I’m best known for my funny and quirky cat paintings which I often reimagine as iconic figures,  from Frida Kahlo to Slash the cat and even a feline Mona Lisa. My work combines humour, character and a love of all things cat.  My most recognised piece , Le Chat is a black cat wearing a red beret, he’s become a bit of a mascot for my creative world.

I live in the beautiful seaside town of Aberystwyth in Mid Wales, with my husband and our cat Muggles who keeps me on my toes and often inspires my work with his antics and cattitude.

I’m originally from Caernarfon, North Wales. I’ve worked  in community and creative roles at Galeri Caernarfon, a social enterprise centre and theatre, which gave me a real appreciation for the arts and local culture.

While Cats steal the show in most of my paintings , I also love drawing other animals and local scenes in my signature style. My arts often reflect the places I love such as the rugged beauty of Llanddwyn Island on Anglesey, the majestic Caernarfon Castle, and the sweeping views of Pen Dinas from my kitchen window.
